We collaborated with TOPS Knives in Idaho starting in 2012 to bring our customers a more economical Ruana knife. Our Americana knives are designed after our most popular styles and with the same 1095 high-carbon steel as our catalog knives. These are powder-coated and have a para-cord handle and are a go-to for every adventure. Ruana Americana knives are tested and backed by us and our partners at TOPS.

Americana Fisherman
With all of us at Ruana Knives having grown up with fishing rods in our hands since we could walk, we have always had a passion for fishing. That fact, combined with Montana’s exceptional angling opportunities (some almost literally within a stone’s throw from our shop) led to the development of the Ruana Americana Fisherman. Based on our traditional Steelhead model and originally created for fishing, we have found this blade works well on anything from a 6” Brook Trout to a 6 point bull elk or any outdoor endeavor where a good cutting tool is needed.
Americana Smokejumper
Based on our most popular knife, the Ruana Smokejumper was originally created in the late 1930's and later became a favorite knife for Western Montana's brave parachuting firefighters that were first on the scene to battle forest fires in rugged and remote mountainous areas. The Smokejumpers would occasionally get hung up in a tree or have their parachute cord tangled during the jump and this compact knife would allow them to cut themselves free. The versatile Smokejumper blade shape has been tested throughout Montana, the United States, and other parts of the world. Its design is all any hunter, outdoor enthusiast, survivalist or anyone requiring an everyday quality cutting tool ever needs.

The Smokejumper blade has a little more curve and width from top to bottom than the
Fisherman, as well as a slightly wider handle from top to bottom. Other than those variances
and a different color paracord handle, they have similar specs.
